Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour 3 Days Itinerary:

Day1: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley

Departure from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, we drive over the stunning High Atlas mountains through Tizi n’Tichka (alt 2260 m). On the side of the mountains, you will see Berber farms and traditional villages until we arrive at Aït Benhaddou, a ‘fortified city’, situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech.

It is situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River and boasts some beautiful examples of kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited. Granted a UNESCO World Heritage listing, the site has been the setting for many films, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator Visit the Kasbah and have lunch.

Then heading to Ouarzazate, named the “Hollywood of Morocco,” we continue through the Road of Thousand-Kasbah passing Skoura palm grove and the town of roses, Kelaa Mgouna, before we arrive at Dades and check into the hotel/Riad.

Day2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, head to Todra Gorges, it is an ideal place for walking and exploring on your own. Lunch in the restaurant, then Continuation towards Erfoud: famous for its fossilized marbles, where you will visit the workshop production of marble fossils.

We head down to Erg Chebbi dunes, which signify the commencement of the mighty Sahara Desert. It’s here that you will start a camel trip into the middle of the dunes for an overnight camp. enjoying local food and a night of entertainment under the Saharan stars.

Day3: Merzouga Desert - Alnif - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

Wake up early to see the spectacle of the sunrise, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. Arriving at the hotel to have breakfast and a shower. Continue to Ouarzazate via Rissani, one of the old capitals of Morocco then set off to the beautiful Draa valley with its millions of palm trees. In the evening,g arrive in Marrakech.
