4-Day Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech

Beginning in the vibrant city of Fes, the itinerary takes you through the picturesque town of Ifrane and the mystical Cedar Forest, where the echoes of Barbary macaques resonate. A night by the sand dunes of Merzouga promises an intimate desert experience, with the following day dedicated to exploring the desert, engaging with local communities, and embarking on a camel trek into the golden expanse.

The journey continues through the desert town of Rissani and the dramatic Todra Gorge, where towering cliffs create a natural wonder. As the adventure unfolds, you’ll traverse the captivating Dades Valley, Ouarzazate with its cinematic allure, and the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou, before ascending through the Atlas Mountains.

Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour 4 Days Itinerary:

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert

In the morning after breakfast depart to Merzouga via Ifran Moroccan Swiss-style town and cedar forests it where we will stop for a while to enjoy seeing monkeys climbing the trees.Then Lunch is in Midelt, “the apple capital”, at the foot of the Ayachi Mountain.

We continue over the Tizi-n-Talremt pass and through the Ziz Valley, which is particularly well-known for its palm trees and the length of the oasis. All along the road there are innumerable “ksars”, small villages of individual houses. From here we reach Er Rachidia and then Erfoud, famous for its date festival and fossils.

Arrive at Merzouga Morocco's unique dunes, the rest of the day will be dedicated to appreciating the evening change over the dunes. Night in Desert Hotel.

Overnight accommodation in a comfortable hotel/Riad including dinner & breakfast.

Day 2: Explore the Desert Area and Camel Trek

After breakfast, head to Khamlia village to enjoy live Gnawa music, continue off-road to have a tour of sand dunes then stop to have tea with nomads in Berber tents you will discover a new sense of life. from there back to the hotel to relax before starting your camel trip into the middle of the dunes in order to see the sunset then you will arrive at the bivouac and spend the night in a nomadic tent.

Overnight accommodation in a comfortable desert camp including dinner & breakfast.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Erfoud - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

Day 4: Dades Valley - Ait Benhaddou - Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
